Sports Premium Funding 2017 - 2018
The government have committed to £150 million worth of funding for primary school PE each year until 2020 through their Sports Premium fund. This money is ring fenced for spending on developing physical education, healthy living and school sport.
It is anticipated that at Priors Hall as a growing school will provide facilities and activities which will promote positive well-being, physical activity and healthy living in our children from an early age. The use of the large outside spaces will be key to offering children a variety of opportunities to be active, gain confidence and inspire them to try other sports and experiences.
For this academic year, the government announced that Sport Premium will be doubled meaning Priors Hall will receive £16,000 and an additional payment of £10 per pupil.
Priors Hall must use the funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and sport we offer to students. Sports premium should be used to:
- develop or add to the PE and sport activities that your school already offers
- build capacity and capability within the school to ensure that improvements made now will benefit pupils joining the school in future years
A PE improvement plan has been created and will be regularly monitored and updated as key objectives are met. It outlines what the Sport premiuim funding will be used for and how much has been spent.
